About the Scholarship Program
Jhapali Samaaj USA has been involved in various activities which aim to improve the education and health sector, primarily in the Jhapa district. The various activities include but are not limited to ambulances donation, financial support during Covid, and a scholarship program. The scholarship program is one of the key projects.
The scholarship program was launched on April 23, 2022, with the collaboration of Jhapa Biksash Mancha, Kathmandu, and the Jhapa District Shakari organization (Jhapa District Cooperative Association) in two different districts in Nepal: Jhapa and Rautahat. One of the main objectives of the program is to support school students who are financially poor but academically strong. In year one, 75 students from Jhapa and 10 students from the Rautahat district respectively received the scholarship. The scholarship recipient will be awarded NRs. 21,000 each academic year. Normally, the scholarship award will be provided until the recipient graduate from high school. The organization has envisioned continuing the scholarship program for several years. Each year, the organization anticipates extending the program for additional 50-100 students. Jhapali Samaj USA aims to extend the scholarship program to as many as 300 students by 2025. Supporting the education sector is one of the most productive ways to have a positive impact on an individual and society. The organization further believes that the education sector is one of the most important areas in Nepal, which requires significant support to enhance and improve the education system in Nepal. Therefore, the Jhapali Samaj USA requests any individual to contribute to the scholarship program.
